Register Your Account –

In order to use the TalkRating app, you must register with a valid email address. To register:

1.      Launch the TalkRating app on your device.

2.      Below the LOGIN bar, select Sign Up.

3.      Enter a valid email address which you can access.

4.      Enter a password and then confirm that password.

5.      Check the email account used to register and open the email from TalkRating. If you do not see the email in your inbox, be sure to check your junk/spam folder.

6.      Within the confirmation email, select “Click Here” to activate your account.

            First Time Login –

1.      If the TalkRating app is not open, open it on your device.

2.      Enter the email and password used to register the account.

3.      If this is a device that only you use, and you want to remain logged in so that you don’t have to reenter your password, check the REMEMBER ME box.

4.      Select LOGIN and then you can begin using the TalkRating app.

            Forgot Your Password / Need to Reset Password –

                        If you have forgotten your password, follow these steps to reset it:

1.      Open the TalkRating app on your device.

2.      Select FORGOT PASSWORD on the left side of the screen halfway down.

3.      Enter the email address you used to register your account.

4.      Select SUBMIT.

5.      Check the email account used to register and open the email from TalkRating. If you do not see the email in your inbox, be sure to check your junk/spam folder.

6.      Within the confirmation email, select “Click Here” to reset your password.

7.      You will be redirected to the Recover Password screen for TalkRating where you will enter a password and then confirm it. You see the Success screen once complete.

8.      Return to the TalkRating app on your device and attempt login again.

9.      If you are still having issues, make sure you don’t have cap locks on.

10.  If you are still having issues, email users@talkrating.com.

            Logout –

1.      From the Favorites, Shows, Stations, Polls or Points screen within the TalkRating app, select the three-dot menu  at the top of the screen.

2.      Select Logout from the menu.

3.      Confirm that you want to Logout from the confirmation window.

Determining if a Favorite show is on the air live at this moment -

1.      Within the TalkRating app, click on the Favorites option at the bottom of the screen to take you to Favorites.

2.      To the right of the show will either be the Live icon  or Not Live icon 

Removing from Favorites -

1.      Within the TalkRating app, click on the Favorites option at the bottom of the screen to take you to Favorites.

2.      Touch the red favorite icon  to the right of the show you want to remove, and the talk radio show will be removed from your favorites list.

Viewing favorite show details including broadcast days/times, listen live link show call in number, email the show link and current discussion information –

1.      Within the TalkRating app, click on the Favorites option at the bottom of the screen to take you to Favorites.

2.      Select the three-dot menu icon   to the right of the show. This will bring up a dialog box with information and links for that talk radio show.

3.      To close the dialog box, touch anywhere outside of the dialog box.

Change order of Favorites list in to suit your preferences -

1.      Within the TalkRating app, click on the Favorites option at the bottom of the screen to take you to Favorites.

2.      Touch, and continue to hold your finger or stylus, the show you want to move on your list.

3.      While continuing to touch the show, slide your finger up or down in order to move the shows position on your Favorites list.

4.      Once the show is in the desired position, lift your finger.

Return to show screen –

            If you were on a show screen, where you can vote and view polls, prior to moving to Favorites

and you want to return to that show screen, simply touch the return-to-show icon  at the top

of the screen.

            Refresh screen –

                        Because shows are constantly beginning and ending, you may need to refresh the screen from

                        time to time in order to keep live icon current.

1.      Use your finger or stylus to swipe down the screen, and it will refresh.

            Shows are categorized by type, which includes News Talk, Sports Radio, Financial & Legal and Variety

Shows. Within the Shows screen, each type of show is designated by both a color-coded icon as well as

type abbreviation. They are as follows:

                         News Talk NT – Shows which address news,  current events and politics.

                         Sports Radio SR – Shows which address sports.

                         Financial & Legal FL – Shows which address financial and legal issues.

                        Variety Shows VS – Shows which address various topics such as Home & Garden,

Health & Fitness or Outdoor Living.

            To view the Top Rated 50 shows –

1.      Within the TalkRating app, click on the Shows option at the bottom of the screen to take you to syndicated Shows.

2.      At the top of the screen, select Top Rated 50.

3.      Use your finger or stylus to swipe up or down to move up or down the list.

4.      To select a show in the Top Rated 50 list, just briefly touch the show name.

To view every syndicated show alphabetically –

1.      Within the TalkRating app, click on the Shows option at the bottom of the screen to take you to syndicated Shows.

2.      At the top of the screen, select AZ Alphabetical.

3.      To move between alphabetic groups, either use your finger or stylus to swipe left and right or select from the alphabetic groups above the show names.

4.      Use your finger or stylus to swipe up or down to move up or down the list.

5.      To select a show in the Top Rated 50 list, just briefly touch the show name.

Determining if a Favorite show is on the air live at this moment -

1.      To the right of the show will either be the Live icon  or Not Live icon

Adding to Favorites -

1.      Touch the white favorite icon  to the right of the show you wanted added as a favorite. It will change to a red favorite icon  and then can be found in Favorites.

Removing from Favorites -

1.      Touch the red favorite icon  to the right of the show you want to remove, and the icon will change to the white favorite icon  and the talk radio show will be removed from your favorites list.

Viewing show details including broadcast days/times, listen live link show call in number, email the show link and current discussion information –

1.      Select the three-dot menu icon  to the right of the show. This will bring up a dialog box with information and links for that talk radio show.

2.      To close the dialog box, touch anywhere outside of the dialog box.

Return to show screen –

            If you were on a show screen, where you can vote and view polls, prior to moving to Shows

and you want to return to that show screen, simply touch the return-to-show icon  at the top

of the screen.

            Refresh screen –

                        time to time in order to keep live icon current.

Search live shows –

1.      Within the TalkRating app, click on the Stations option at the bottom of the screen to take you to talk Stations.

2.      In the light grey bar, select the State followed by City you want to search.

3.      Every talk show being broadcast live in that city will be listed. The category type of show will be designate by the color-coded icon, and the station which the show is being broadcast will be shown.

4.      To move between show category types, either use your finger or stylus to swipe left and right or select from the category types above the show names.

Determining if a Favorite show is on the air live at this moment -

1.      To the right of the show will either be the Live icon   or Not Live icon 

Adding to Favorites -

1.      Touch the white favorite icon   to the right of the show you wanted added as a favorite. It will change to a red favorite icon  and then can be found in Favorites.

            If you were on a show screen, where you can vote and view polls, prior to moving to Stations

and you want to return to that show screen, simply touch the return-to-show icon   at the top

of the screen.

            Refresh screen –

                        Because shows are constantly beginning and ending, you may need to refresh the screen from

                        time to time to ensure the live broadcast talk shows are listed.

1.      Use your finger or stylus to swipe down the screen, and it will refresh.

Voting for a host –

1.      From Favorites, Shows or Stations, select a live show (live shows are designated with the live show icon ) by touching the name of the show.

2.      If you hear something the host says which you agree, touch the thumbs up icon .

3.      If you hear something the host says which you disagree, touch the thumbs down icon  .

4.      Between the thumbs up and thumbs down icon is the percentage of thumbs up votes for the current host comment.

5.      You can cast the same vote, thumbs up or thumbs down, every 20 seconds. This prevents ‘gaming’ of the voting system.

6.      At any time, you can cast an opposite vote. Therefore, if you give the host a thumbs up because he says something with which you agree, and then he immediately follows with something with which you disagree, you can immediately cast a thumbs down vote.

7.      TalkRating does NOT associate any opinion votes with your account. Your vote is anonymous. TalkRating, shows, radio stations and advertisers do NOT know how you vote.

Voting for a caller/guest –

1.      From Favorites, Shows or Stations, select a live show (live shows are designated with the live show icon ) by touching the name of the show.

2.      If you hear something the caller/guest says which you agree, touch the thumbs up icon .

3.      If you hear something the caller/guest says which you disagree, touch the thumbs down icon .

4.      Between the thumbs up and thumbs down icon is the percentage of thumbs up votes for the current caller/guest comment.

5.      You can cast the same vote, thumbs up or thumbs down, every 15 seconds. This prevents ‘gaming’ of the voting system.

6.      At any time, you can cast an opposite vote. Therefore, if you give the caller/guest a thumbs up because they say something with which you agree, and then they immediately follow with something with which you disagree, you can immediately cast a thumbs down vote.

7.      TalkRating does NOT associate any opinion votes with your account. Your vote is anonymous. TalkRating, shows, radio stations and advertisers do NOT know how you vote.

Voting on a show poll-

1.      If ‘Poll Question’ is in red, the poll is not open for voting. You can still select the poll, by touching it, and view the results of poll that have already been voted on and closed. If you go to the results, you can return to the show screen by touching on the back arrow  on the top left of the screen.

2.      If ‘Poll Question’ is in green, the poll is open for voting. Touch on ‘Poll Question’ to go to the poll.

3.      In the poll question screen, you’ll see the question followed by the available answers. To the right of the answers are the percentages of votes already cast.

4.      Touch the answer you’d like to select, and a confirmation screen will appear.

5.      To confirm your vote, select ‘YES’.

6.      If you did not want to vote with that answer, select ‘CANCEL’ so you can choose another.

7.      After voting, your vote choice will change colors from white to yellow indicating your vote, and your vote will be added to the tally.

8.      Once you have voted, you can not change your vote or vote again.

9.      Poll results automatically refresh every 5 seconds.

10.  To return to the show screen, touch the back arrow  on the top left of the screen.

11.  Show hosts have the option to use the national polls; therefore, there may be times when show polls are duplicates of the national polls.

12.  TalkRating does NOT associate any poll votes with your account. Your vote is anonymous. TalkRating, shows, radio stations and advertisers do NOT know how you vote.

Adding show to Favorites -

1.      Touch the white favorite icon  to the right of the show you wanted added as a favorite. It will change to a red favorite icon  and then can be found in Favorites.

Removing show from Favorites -

1.      Touch the red favorite icon  to the right of the show you want to remove, and the icon will change to the white favorite icon  and the talk radio show will be removed from your favorites list.

Return to main menu –

1.      To return to the main menus of TalkRating from the show screen, touch the back arrow  at the top left of the screen.

Receive information about an advertisement –

1.      If you see an advertisement for which you would like to receive information, touch the ad.

2.      A confirmation box will appear. If you want to receive information, select ‘Yes’, if not, select ‘No’.

3.      If you select ‘Yes’, you will receive an email from TalkRating with a link to the product and any discount code that might apply. Your email address or name is NOT shared with either the advertiser, show or radio station. TalkRating does NOT associate any advertisement selections with your account.

Voting on a show poll-

1.      If ‘Poll Question’ is in red, the poll is not open for voting. You can still select the poll, by touching it, and view the results of poll that have already been voted on and closed. If you go to the results, you can return to the show screen by touching on the back arrow  on the top left of the screen.

            If you were on a show screen, where you can vote and view polls, prior to moving to Polls

and you want to return to that show screen, simply touch the return-to-show icon   at the top

of the screen.

View Points –

1.      Within the TalkRating app, click on the Points option at the bottom of the screen to take you to view your points.

Return to show screen –

1.      If you were on a show screen, where you can vote and view polls, prior to moving to Points and you want to return to that show screen, simply touch the return-to-show icon  at the top of the screen.

From Favorites, Shows, Stations, Polls and Points, you can access the TalkRating main menu by

selecting the main menu three-dot icon  at the top right of the screen.

Search Discussions –

            Search Discussions is where TalkRating app users can search for a topic of interest. When

            performing a discussion search, the app will look at the entries of show hosts who have

            entered information about their show’s current discussions. It will show matches for all

            shows in your Favorites along with all other shows that are currently being broadcast live.

1.      From within the main menu, select Search Discussions.

2.      In the blank field, type in a word to search or a group of words to search with commas separating each word.

3.      Select ‘SEARCH’ and allow the TalkRating server time to process.

4.      Results will be listed.

Report an Issue –

            Report an Issue is where you can let TalkRating know about issues with the app or with show

            listings. Reporting issues helps us improve the app and provide a better experience.

1.      From within the main menu, select ‘Report an issue’.

2.      Type in a description of the issue with as many details as possible in the text block.

3.      Select ‘SEND’.

Tutorial-

            The TalkRating tutorial, which you are viewing, can be accessed directly through the app.

1.      From within the main menu, select ‘Tutorial’.

2.      When the confirmation box appears asking if you want to be redirected to the tutorial, select ‘Yes’.

Logout-

            If you logout of the TalkRating app, you will be prompted to log back in once you launch the

            app again. You will need to know the email address you used to register along with the

            password you created to log back in.

1.      From within the main menu, select ‘Logout’.

2.      Confirm with ‘YES’ in the confirmation box.

The Show Menu can be accessed two different ways. If you have already selected a show and are in the

voting screen (where you can choose thumbs up or thumbs down), select the three-dot menu icon

If you are in Favorites, Show or Stations, select the three-dot icon .

            Show Times -

            Show times will be listed based upon the time zone where you are located. It shows both the times and

            days the show is broadcast live.

Listen Live Link –

Select the Listen Live Link to be directed to the station’s live stream. TalkRating does not stream the

show, but only has links to the geographically closest station broadcasting that show.

            Show Phone Number –

            Click on the show phone number in order to initiate your phone’s default dialing screen. If you are

            using a device which does not have a dialing option, you will not be able to call the show; therefore,

            you will need to manually dial the number using a device capable of making calls.

            Email the Show –

            If the show has provided an email address, you will be able to send an email using the dialog box within

            the TalkRating app. The email will be sent with the email address you used to register, and you will

            receive a copy of the email. Utilizing this option will expose your email address to the show; therefore,

            if you do not want the show to be aware of your email address, do not use this option.

            Current Discussion –

            This option will be present if the show has added what they will be discussing. This content is

            controlled exclusively by the show and not TalkRating. Select Current Discussion to see a dialog

            box with information about what the show is currently discussing.
